Isis's Icon Journal

Not only did I remember that I have this icon journal, I also made icons for the first time in years. The first LOTR icons I've done in donkey's years, too. Shame shame shame, I still love the movies, Tolkien, the books. "Fellowship" was always the part I was fondest of, in retrospect. Hence the icons, which hopefully are only a beginning. ♥

My icons are probably very old-fashioned in style but I honestly haven't had much of an eye on any of the icon communities around here, and some of the things that seem to be very popular regarding colouring etc. I don't particularly like. Oh well, I hope I'm not repeating myself.

All these icons have been submitted for Icontests, some won an award, some didn't, but as I haven't posted them outside of the award anywhere else, I put these up here.

- 001-018: "Buffy the Vampire Slayer"
- 019-020: Anthony Stewart Head
- 021: Sarah Michelle Gellar
- 022: ASH in "Imagine Me and You"
- 023: ASH in "The Magic Door"
- 024: ASH in "Zero Option"
- 025-026: ASH in "MI:5"/"Spooks"
- 029-030: "Profiler"

Oh, and if you're an icon maker, have a look at ripping_icons current challange. We could use some more submissions. *bats lashes*

I've been having a bit of a crisis today regarding me making icons that, apparently, aren't up to standards of either what's en vogue or generally just too average, and I asked myself why I even bother. And, as much as it hurts to not feel appreciated, I do enjoy the creative process, as it is. I guess I'll just have to aspire to improve for the future.

But enough of my morose self-doubts. I bring you 36 "The Zeppo" icons. There's plenty of Xander here, naturally.

I've never thought I'd make another "Phantom" icon, but now it's been such a long time and I was looking at the pictures and there it was, the pretty and the angst, and I just couldn't have another go. I also didn't look at my old icons, and now I find it rather satisfying that I wasn't repeating myself too badly in terms of cropping and style.

I wish it wouldn't take this long from one post to another, but my ability to concentrate was shot to hell the last couple of months, and whenever I'd opened PS, I was staring on the screen with my brain completely wiped clean of any spark of inspiration. But I hope that my icon-fu is back. Well, at least I made a large batch, and some may even be good icons. Oh well, judge for yourself. The set's entirely made from S3 Episode "Amends". ;)

21 Vienna Teng icons, inspired by her latest album. The text on all icons, save those that only have her name on, are taken from various of her song lyrics, mostly used shamelessly out of context.

Again, it's been forever since I've posted icons. I've started with a batch of Hugo Weaving icons weeks ago, but then I set up my old computer anew, and when I've just got around to dealing with Photoshop, I got a new PC! With it came a newer version of PS than I previously had, namely CS. I played with a trial of CS2, and there were a lot of things I didn't like at all, and even though I'm now running on a 2.6 GHz processor with plenty of RAM, CS2 was very slow. CS looks very neat though. I added a few icons, but all of them where finished before I got my resources sorted, so they are rather plain. There will hopefully be more icons soon!

I've started this batch way, way back, and I just couldn't get it finished. I am currently not inspired to make more Profiler icons, sadly enough. I'm sure the mood will return, eventually. Until then, enjoy 54 icons, all made from screencaptures of the episode 1x19: FTX: Field Training Exercise.

I can't believe that I haven't posted any icons in 2006 so far. That's. What have I been doing? Yes, I know, getting a life isn't exactly helpful, and I have been making icons here and there, just nothing that would have made up a post. Until now! I bring you the wonderful Tony Head, inspired by a picture post on ash_daily.
